The Warren line, contrary to popular
belief, actually started during the Middle Ages of England with the Evil Enchantress,
the past life of future Charmed One Paige Matthews. The Evil Enchantress,
wanted to make a world ruled by evil, thus making the Warren line one of evil roots.
The Warren
line, as we know it, started in Virginia
during the 1600s with Charlotte Warren (born 1644) and eventually her
daughter Melinda (born October 31, 1670). It is actually Melinda,
however, who is credited as the founding member of the Warren Witches, as
she is the one who started the Book
of Shadows in 1693. Melinda had three powers – temporal stasis,
telekinesis, and premonition, which all future decedents, would tend to
have one of those three powers. Melinda was discovered to be a witch
because of her lover, a warlock named Matthew Tate whom she used magic
against to lock him into a locket. However, because she wanted to keep
her line alive, she didn’t reveal the secret of her daughter
Prudence being a witch and didn’t use her powers to escape death at
the stake. Melinda did, however, did make the promise that each
generation of Warrens
would become stronger than the previous until it would culminate into
three powerful sisters who would become the protectors of the innocent,
the Charmed Ones.
Prudence Warren (born 1695) was
taken in by Elizabeth Hasting and raised. Prudence went on to marry a man
by the name of Michael Wentworth and had two children: Brianna (1831) and
Astrid Warren-Wentworth (birth date unknown). Brianna at one time was
able to disgraced a lord of war by separating him
from his sword while she was in the Crimea
area during the Crimean War. However, the line wouldn’t continue
through Astrid, but did continue through Brianna by way of her children: Laura,
Helena, and Grace (birth dates unknown).
After the San Francisco
earthquake of 1906, the Warrens
bought an area of land which a spiritual nexus was under. They were able
to take the land for their own and claimed the nexus for their own, this nexus is partly what made the Warrens so powerful
and revered during the twentieth century. By this time the line had
ceased using the Warren name and adopted the names of Bowens (born June
1895; had the power of cryokinesis – the power to literally freeze
things), Baxter (born September 1897; had the power of temporal stasis),
and Russell (born 1894; had the power of pyrokinesis – the power to
set things on fire); three cousins who ran a speakeasy in the home during
the time of prohibition. The cousins were also very open about and with
their magical heritage as they were willing to practice magic in front of
costumers, and even had the Book of
Shadows out for people to see. They often were just mingling in
useless magic such as love spells and potions and reading fortunes. P. Russell, died very young in 1924 and P. Bowens never
married, but did have one child, a daughter named Francine, however the
line didn’t continue through Francine as she had no descendents. All
of these conditions allowed P. Baxter to become the singular carrier of
the Warren
line.
P. Baxter married Gordon Johnson and had two children: Penelope
(born June 23, 1937) and Gordon (born 1943), though Penelope was the only
one to carry the Warren
destiny, as she was the only one to be of magical heritage. Penelope
wielded the power of telekinesis and eventually had a daughter named
Patricia Halliwell (born April 6, 1950) who had the power of temporal stasis.
It was Patricia had three magical daughters: Prue, Piper, and Phoebe, after
marrying the mortal Victor Bennett. These three daughters would become
the Charmed Ones. However Patricia’s marriage wouldn’t last
long and she divorced Victor. After which, she had an affair with her
whitelighter, Sam Wilder, and had another daughter named Paige. After
being denied of their heritage their entire lives, the Charmed Ones
became full fledged witches. However, Prue would eventually die too
young, though it did open the door for the lost sister Paige, a
half-witch, half-whitelighter, to become a Charmed One.
The Warren line would be secured through the sons of Piper
Halliwell, Wyatt and Chris through Piper’s marriage with the
whitelighter turned elder Leo, the first male witches in the line, who
are half-whitelighter, half-witch, like their aunt Paige. It would also
be able pass through Paige Matthews through her marriage to Henry _______
who would have a daughter named Pandora and a granddaughter named Poise.
It is not known if the line would ever continue through Phoebe and her
husband.
